Ms. Nilay Ozral
CEO , Aldar Academies - UAE
Nilay Ozral became CEO of Aldar Academies in 2013, following three years as a director of Aldar Real Estate Operations. In her earlier role, Nilay oversaw the strategic development of a number of Aldar’s major assets, which included Aldar Academies in addition to the brand’s seven hotels and golf club.
As Aldar Academies’ CEO, Nilay leads the strategic direction and operational development of the education provider’s portfolio of seven leading private schools across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. In 2017, Nilay also took on the title of Operator and Manager of ADNOC Schools, after an agreement that saw Aldar Academies commence the management of four ADNOC Schools campuses across Abu Dhabi and the Al Dhafra Region.
During her tenure, Nilay has guided Aldar Academies’ exponential growth, which has seen the organisation open Yas Island’s first American Massachusetts State Curriculum School, Aldar Academies’ first girls-only secondary school with a co-ed primary school, and the organisation’s first nursery in 2018. Under Nilay’s leadership, Aldar Academies has also invested significant funds to implement the most advanced teaching technology across its schools, to enhance the outcomes of teaching and learning for all students.
Nilay has a diverse background in leading organisations across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Americas with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, operations, and financial analysis. She has been based in the UAE since 2008 and joined Aldar from Sorouh, where she was Strategic Planning Director. Previously, Nilay spent 18 years in industry, holding senior executive roles at Procter & Gamble, the multinational consumer goods manufacturer, and as Strategic Planning and Business Development Director of Bunge, the global agribusiness and food production company.
Nilay holds a masters degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University and a degree from Middle East Technical University in Turkey. She has an MBA from University of Manchester Business School and the University of Texas at Austin, and has completed a number of executive management courses at Washington University, USA, and ESADE in Spain.
